FAQs

Q: My Sweet Beats label/logo came off! How do I fix it?

A: Unfortunately the Sweet Beats advertising campaign was not planned far in advance. The re-branding of this originally unbranded, generic “High Quality Cassette Recorder” was done using the tools available at the time. To truly replace the label accurately you would need to print it off 40mm thermal sticker paper from a receipt printer. Failing that, the Candy Universe recommends printing on standard paper and using tape, preferably 3M Mounting Tape, to reattach the label. You can download the graphics for the logo above.

Q: I didn’t win a Sweet Beats! Can I buy one?

A: At this time the Candy Universe does not plan to offer a paid version of the Sweet Beats player, however we may consider a more professional unit with proper custom plastic molds if there is enough fan interest. In the mean time there is nothing stopping you from downloading the label above and making your own version of a Sweet Beats with an off the shelf tape player! That’s basically all we did.

Q: I’ve never used an old school tape before I won the Sweet Beats. Do you have any tips to help me start?

A: Sure! For a basic guide on how to use a cassette tape deck we recommend the guide linked here. For a more technical explanation of how tapes work, we recommend this video linked here. Remember, the Sweet Beats unit auto-levels recording input. You can ignore any steps on guides about leveling. It actually isn’t possible to adjust the recording level on the Sweet Beats unit.

Q: What kind of tapes did I get included with my Sweet Beats?

A: The 3 included tapes (or 1 tape for runner up prize kits) are type I ferric tapes, 90 minute length (45 minutes per side).

Q: Does the Sweet Beats offer any kind of Dolby Noise Reduction?

A: No.

Q: Is the Sweet Beats system compatible with 1/4th inch headphones?

A: Not natively, however adapters are available. Something like the one linked here will work just fine.

Q: Does the Sweet Beats system work with Bluetooth cassette adapters?

A: Uh. Sure? It would work, absolutely. But why? Unless you want to use it as an awkward adapter to covert a Bluetooth signal into an AUX signal, why would you bother?
